On October 21, 2018, the first meeting of the Second Standing Committee of the Beijing Intellectual Property Law Research Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Research Association") and the establishment ceremony of the Patent Law & Trademark Law Committee were held at the Beijing Empark Grand Hotel.

The first meeting was chaired by the Secretary-General Yang Huaquan. President Su Chi gave a report to the Standing Council on the work of the Research Association in the first half of 2018, and was recognized by the executive directors.

Later, the executive vice president of the Research Association, Qu Sanqiang, presided over the establishment ceremony of the Patent Law & Trademark Law Committee. The managing partner of the firm, Andy Yang, was elected as the director of the Patent Law Committee.
