Professional Experience

After graduating from Jinan University in 2002 with a bachelor of Mechanics and Electronics Engineering, Xiang LI pursued his master’s degree in Beijing Jiaotong University from 2003 to 2006. After graduation in 2006, he joined an intellectual property agency in Beijing as a patent engineer and then he was appointed and then worked as the manager of Mechanical Department for six years. Besides working, Xiang LI graduated from Peking University with the degree of Master of Laws in 2014. In 2017, he joined Wis & Weals.

In his more than ten years of practicing career, Xiang LI provided professional services for international clients such as InterDigital Communication, Dell, Amazon, NEC Lighting, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and domestic clients such as SINOPEC, CNOOC, BYD, COFCO, FOTON, Shenhua Group, Zoomlion, Greatwall Motor, Midea Group etc., together with variety of small and medium-sized high-tech companies.

Xiang LI provides multiple patent legal services, including patent prosecution, reexamination, patent invalidation, patent infringement analysis, patent mining and layout etc. For example, Chinese patent titled Engine cooling system and auxiliary water tank for same which was mined and drafted by Xiang LI for FOTON was awarded the sole special award in 3rd Patent Prize of Beijing in 2014. Meanwhile, Xiang LI can provide personalized legal service to clients in order to obtain high-quality granting of crucial patent applications related to key technology.

Furthermore, based on professional experience, Xiang LI has acquired rich experience in arranging patent overseas layout for domestic clients, especially in important markets of US, EP, JP and KR etc.

Finally, Xiang LI has frequent exchange and contact with overseas and domestic IP practitioner, therefore can obtain the newest information about the development of IP fields and establish a worldwide cooperation network. In July 2013, Xiang LI attended training of EP IP lessons in CEIPI. In recent years, Xiang Li attended IP Service World in Munich, Germany and delivered topic speeches in English by multiple times.
