Working Experience

Linda Teng graduated from the Liaoning University School of Law in July 1992 and was admitted to the Huaqiao University School of Law in Fujian Province to pursue a master's degree that same year. She passed the National Bar Examination in December 1993 and graduated from Huaqiao University with a master's degree in law in July 1995.


Ms. Teng began teaching contract law and economic law to undergraduates at Beijing Technology and Business University in 1995. Three years later, she left Beijing to pursue a master's degree in law at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, she worked as a foreign legal adviser at a U.S. law firm in Los Angeles. In 2002, Ms. Teng returned to China and joined Junhe Law Firm, Haotian Law Firm, and the U.S. firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey. During her six years of practice, she focused on corporate law, business trade, and intellectual property protection, she also represented many well-known domestic and international enterprises in trademark and copyright infringement cases. Notably, she represented Orion in a copyright infringement case against Lotte, winning in both the first and second trials.


From 2008 to 2016, Ms. Teng served as a corporate counsel at Google China and then as a regional counsel at Google Hong Kong from 2016 to 2024. During her 16 years at Google, she provided comprehensive legal support for the launch and operation of various products, including Ads and optimization, Search, Google Play, Google Wallet, and YouTube. Her responsibilities included legal risk assessment, feasibility research for product launches, contract localization, reviewing and revising terms and conditions, policy review, negotiating commercial contracts,and overseeing legal aspects of marketing activities. She also managed content removal, personal information protection, and dispute resolution for products like Search, Maps, and Drive. Notably, she worked with Google multiple teams and participated in Hong Kong's first right-to-be-forgotten (RTBF) case in 2020. Additionally, Ms. Teng regularly provided legal training to Google’s business units on topics such as advertising law, information protection, and responding to law enforcement actions.

Represented Orion Co., Ltd. in the first and second instance cases of copyright infringement filed by Lotte Co., Ltd;
